About

Hello! Welcome to Experimental Design. My name is Katherine Linton and I am the proud owner, artist, and make-it-up-as-I-go experimenter. My hope is to bring art to the non-artist and whimsical pieces to your home. I am not classically trained as an artist. A lot of what I do is either a pleasant surprise or the result of lots of experimenting. I’d like to share my experiences and philosophies on art with you. Subscribe to my blog to keep up-to-date or visit my shop to see what’s for sale.

I am a mother, data analyst, former high school science teacher and artist. I have been experimenting to see how art and science can mingle and compliment each other. I’ve recently been playing with the densities of paints to see how they will layer and flow with each other. I think I may be on to something – Eureka!

I love to make artwork and jewelry using various acrylic pour techniques, but I am also happy to paint florals, land, and seascapes in either acrylic or watercolor as well as abstract and realistic graphite and colored pencil drawings. I have done a variety of portraits: babies, embryos, pets, couples, homes – you name it! I have even been known to do calligraphy and custom wedding stationary for bridal parties and weddings. I am happy to take commissions if there is something specific that you would like. Check out my shop to see the artwork for sale as well as the Gallery to see what others are commissioning.

I hope that you enjoy my “work.” Please let me know if you have any questions.

“The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It’s the source of all true art and science.”       ~Albert Einstein
